Writing an Impressive Nurse Resume

If you want to make nursing as your profession, it is important that your nursing resume shows how extensive your knowledge and experiences are. To be a successful nurse, special skills and experience are essential.
As a professional nurse with an area of specialization, your resume should reflect what kind of person you are, and that includes details about your work experience and skills. Your work experience shows the knowledge and skills that you have, but it is also important to give an impression about your personality and your capacity to empathize with patients.
In your nursing resume, you should present a value proposition, which is a narrative statement of the main reason why they should employ you as a nurse. It is a summary of your work experience and special skills. It would give them an idea of what you could offer as a nurse.
Next is make a list of education, training and licensure as well as academic honors, scholarships and extracurricular activities. Fresh graduates should put the Education section before the Experience section In the Experience section, write down and describe your job duties as well as achievements, and you should state how you went beyond your call of duty to help your employer or department. You should also write how you improved workflow, met and surpassed patient satisfaction, saved money or time, produced revenue, managed inventory levels, trained employees and built positive relationships.
Use the following examples as a guide:
1. Remain calm and professional during times of emergency and crisis.
2. Easily develops rapport with patients and colleagues.
3. Has a record of dependability and responsibility.
Nursing reflects who you are as well as what you can do. Your resume must show your capacity to do your job at the highest level, and with a compassion that is important to patients and their families.
